Balayage Touch-Up

Balayage touchup

Balayage has quickly become one of the most sought-after hair highlighting techniques available. Its signature sweeping technique creates an alluring sun-kissed effect, perfect for anyone seeking a subtle colour boost. Not only is Balayage beautiful to look at; its softening of grey strands without block dying is another advantage of using Balayage; not to mention being much less damaging than traditional highlights!

How often should I touch up my balayage? That depends on the shade of balayage you have and how dark your roots naturally are; typically blonde balayage should only need touch ups every six weeks while brunette ones may extend out up to four months between appointments.

Maintaining your balayage regularly to prevent unwanted contrast in your color can be tricky, if not necessary, depending on its depth. Over time it may become patchy or you could develop unwanted regrowth lines. We advise using a nourishing shampoo and conditioner, such as our Phillip Kingsley Swim Cap which protects from chlorine or salt water environments, to keep the vibrant hue vibrant between salon visits.

Before washing your balayage, we suggest waiting 48 hours to allow its cuticle to close properly and avoid premature fade of your colour. To combat brassiness we also suggest adding purple shampoo (which neutralizes yellow and orange tones) into your routine; or check out our Balayage guide for further tips!
